Yesterday, while walking our dogs, Evan asked me one of those questions that I am never sure how to answer. The conversation went as follows:
“Mom, what is your biggest dream of all?” she asked. A pause.
Then she continued, reinforcing the question “But it has to be really your biggest dream of all, ok?”
“Ok, so my biggest dream of all is for our family to be always very happy.” I replied.
My daughter then answered, “Come on mom, we already are happy. I said a dream!!’
I was briefly silenced as I tried to reflect on what I had just listened to. On the one hand, I kind of wanted to make a statement that this was truly what I felt because this is really the deepest dream that I hold dear to me. However, I could not ignore the fact that my daughter was informing me that my dream was already a part of reality and therefore, does not belong to the dimension of dreams. On the other hand, her answer made me feel so good. It was so positive that I could do nothing but accept it with openness. I truly felt a sweet sensation in every cell of my being.
So in the middle of Chica´s tugs (our dog that insists on walking us!!) I finally responded.
“ Ooohh, I would love to travel around the world.”
“You know what´s my biggest dream of all? Evan asked. “To fly.”
